Nina V Patterson

Nina V. Patterson, 93, of Rockford, Il. was welcomed into heaven on Monday, June 6, 2016. Born December 14, 1922 in Corning, AR. She married Willis Patterson and together shared 54 years while raising their four children. He preceded her in 1998. She worked at National Lock for over 30 years. Nina made a career of taking care of her family. She baked her wonderful signature recipes for them, divinity, pecan pie and peach cobbler. She showcased her talents in quilting and gifted family members with her creations. Nina enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, sitting on the front porch of 55 years, visiting with neighbors or anyone who offered a friendly greeting.

Survivors: children, Gary Patterson, David (Sue) Patterson, Patricia (Jim) Blackwell, Joseph (Gabriel) Patterson; grandchildren, Beth (Rick) Ranken, Laurie (Erich) Luhrs, Stephanie (Tim) Wilburn, Kristen (Dan) Eberle, Amanda (Dave) Goldman, Andrea (Mike) Rea, Zachary (Claudia) Blackwell, Isabella Patterson; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Samons; sister, Ernistine Allan. Predeceased by parents; husband; five siblings.
