

On Wednesday, May 15th, 2013, Orlando D. Swartout was called to heaven to be with his mother, father, sisters, brothers, and two daughters after a long illness. Orlando was born in Rockford, IL on March 8th, 1930 to Violet and Orlando C. Swartout.
Orlando served overseas, in Japan, during the Korean War in the U.S. Army and upon returning found and married the “love of his life” Rose. On May 5th they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the great outdoors. The only thing he loved more was his wife and family. He retired from Barber Colman Company after 35 years of dedicated service. Orlando loved his friends and family fiercely and always tried to be the rock on which we stood.
He is survived by his loving wife Rose; daughters, Lana (Mike) Hyland, Micky (Butch) Dalen, Rosemary Bagley, Penny (Chris) Luedtke; sons, Orlando J. Swartout, Mark (Angie) Swartout; 11 grandchildren and their spouses; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; special family friend, Jeannette Brooks.
