Paul Lewellen 86, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, August 2, 2025 at 2:25 p.m., joining his beloved parents, W.J. and Mary Lewellen. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 60 years, Cathy, and their children: Tony (Michelle), Scott (Maggie), and Shawn (Kathy). Paul was a proud grandfather to Desire’ (Brandon) Wheeler, Darien (Jorge) Ortiz, Tyler, Paige, Brooklyn, and Chase, and a loving great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, William (Beverly) Lewellen of Missouri.
In 1963, Paul enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home to care for his parents and tend to the family farm.
Paul began working at Chrysler Corporation in 1966 and remained a dedicated employee for 37 years—never missing a single day of work throughout his entire career.
A man of deep and unwavering faith, Paul’s love for the Lord was evident in every area of his life. He drew strength from scripture, joy from prayer, and peace from the promise of eternal life. Paul read the Bible daily and, remarkably, read through it 12 times in one year. His faith was expressed not only in words, but in his kindness, compassion, and steadfast trust in God's plan.
Now that Paul has passed into the arms of our Lord, we hold fast to the promise that while his physical life on Earth has ended, his eternal journey has only just begun.
Exodus 23:20

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am. Friday, August 22, 2025 at Grace Family Church, 3202 Pleasant Valley Blvd. Rockford, IL 61114, with Pastor Keith Manley officiating.
