Paul Hewitt Swift, 87, formerly of Rockford, passed away May 9, 2015 at Maple Crest Care Centre. Born November 12, 1927 in Rock Island; he was the son Robert T. and Christina (Eversoll) Swift. He was the husband of Dona Cary Swift.
A U.S. Navy Veteran, Paul served his country during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Rockford American Legion, Post 1207 and a Plank member of the U.S. Navy Memorial located in Washington D.C. He retired from Eclipse Inc. after 18 years of employment.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife, gardening, jig-saw puzzles and his dog, Max.
Survivors include his son, Craig (Barbara) Swift; adopted son, William C. Swift; and his sister, Anita Moore.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
