Peggy L. Long, 65 of Rockford went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Born on February 28, 1948 in Rockford, she was the daughter of Elwenza and Celia (Patton) Pitner. On March 30, 1968 she married Leonard Long in Rockford.
A member of Cathedral Baptist Church, Peggy retired from the Winnebago County Juvenile Probation Department after 17 years of employment.
She enjoyed spending her time with her dog, Pepe, singing at church, crochet, and baking.
Peggy is survived by her sisters, Leita Carlson, and Patricia Petitt; brothers, Michael and Sam (Marcia) Pitner; friend, Matthew Feltz; niece, Ingrid Emery, Linda Carlson, Kimberly Boucher, and Sarah Young; nephew, Stephen Carlson; and many other relatives and friends.
