Ralph A. Thompson Jr.

Ralph was born on February 26, 1972 in Rockford, the son of Ralph Albert Thompson Sr. and Alice Irene James. He married Candy G. Lucas on October 8, 2005. Ralph was a member of the Construction Union Local #792 for 15 years and was employed for Ringland-Johnson Construction. Ralph enjoyed NASCAR, Classic Cars and Hot Rods, the Chicago Bears and having drinks with his friends.

Ralph is survived by his wife Candy; daughter Kalie; step sons Shawn and Shane; grandson Caiden; mother Alice Thompson-Mills; siblings Stacey (Lori) Thompson, Scott Thompson (Sherry), Dawn (Rennie) Elvin, Kathy (Jim) Teasdale and Stephanie Bahling (Larry); mother and father-in-law Arlene and Paul Lucas; brother and sister-in-law Rodney and Wendy Lucas; longtime friends Chris Gravagno and Terry Bahling; many nieces, nephews and great nieces; all of his friends and family of the Old Still and all of his brothers and sisters of the Construction Union Local #792.

Ralph was preceded in death by his father Ralph, brothers Rex and Lauren J. Thompson.

A service to celebrate Ralph’s life will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday March 17, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park with visitation to be one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to the Forest Hills Lodge 1601 W. Lane Rd. in Loves Park after services to continue celebrating Ralph’s life.
