Randall Lane Knox, 56, of Rockton, passed away on November 24, 2012. Born on July 7, 1956 in Rockford, he was the son of Leo T. and Pauline (Holdren) Knox. He married Karen Hauser on March 17, 2000 in Jamaica.
A 1975 graduate of Hononegah High School, Randall was a very active member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 219 for 33 years. Currently the Vice President, JATC Board Trustee, Welding Instructor and member of the Contract Negotiation Team for 12 years. He was also a marketing representative for PROGRIP Motorcycle Accessories.
He enjoyed motorcycles, being an AMA member, amateur fishing, and taking vacations with the love of his life, Karen.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Karen; his mother, Pauline Knox; brothers, Gary (Cindy), Glenn (Donna), and Rick (Carole) Knox; sister, Kim (Jim) Didier; mother-in-law, Patricia (Carl) Rusch; father-in-law, Duane (Kelly) Hauser; brothers-in-law, David (Debbie) and Mike (Shirley) Hauser and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Leo T. Knox and brother-in-law, Brian Hauser.
Funeral service, 10 a.m., Thursday, November 29, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Derek Melin will officiate. Visitation, 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, at the funeral home. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
