

Raquel Villarreal, 95, of Loves Park, IL, formerly of San Antonio, TX, passed on April 30, 2026, in Oregon, IL. She was born May 28, 1930 in Tampico, Mexico, the daughter of Petra Garza. She was raised in Salinas Victoria, Nuevo Leon where she met the love of her life. Raquel was the loving wife of Reynaldo Villarreal for over 65 years. She was the proud business owner of Modas Raquel in Chicago. Raquel was a talented seamstress who could replicate anything. Raquel was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord. She enjoyed making jewelry, crocheting and knitting. Raquel read her bible every day without fail. She was amazing and inspirational that way.
Raquel is loved and missed by her children, Reynaldo (Linda) Villarreal, Jr., Leticia (Jos) Schwab and Esther (Steve) Poirot; grandchildren, Joy (Eric) Campisi, Matthew (Amanda) Schwab, Angela (Shane) Gilbertson, Sarah Poirot and Noah (Kelly) Poirot; great-grandchildren, Laniyah, Mackenzie, Autumn, Jocelynne, Savannah, Mia, Beckett and Rory; brother, Raul; and sister, Tocha; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband Reynaldo, Sr., and sister Carmela.
Raquel and Reynaldo will be placed together at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park, IL.
