Richard Irie Scott, age 80, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026. He was born on March 1, 1946, in Tuscola, Illinois to Raymond and Frankie (Shain) Scott. He married the love of his life, Beverly Ebert, on December 4, 1965 and they spent 51 wonderful years together before she passed in 2017. Richard served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968, he served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, earning himself an Air Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster. He enjoyed trap shooting, golf, and archery as he got older.
Richard is survived by his son, Gregory (Idalia) Scott and sister, Glenda Burman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Scott; parents, Raymond and Frankie Scott; and siblings, Junior Scott, Jackie Addington, and Harlan Scott.
Visitation for Richard will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, August 1st at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
