Robert F. Cortright, 76, Rockford, passed away on June 7, 2013. He was born on July 16, 1936 in Merrill, Wisconsin to Paul and Alice Cortright. He served four years in the United States Air Force and later married Janie (Goode) on May 24, 1975.
He worked at Chrysler for forty years until his retirement.
Robert was a member of Rockford First where he sang and played the saxophone. He loved riding motorcycles, the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Janie; children, William Cortright, Lisa Dammon, Steven Cortright, Dennis Cortright and Christina Minihan . He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Friday, June 14, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Pastor Bob Taylor will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
