Robert A. Giardini

Robert Angelo Giardini, 92 of Roscoe passed away December 24, 2013 at his home. Born April 2, 1921 in Rockford, he was the son of Adolph and Jenny (Chiodini) Giardini. He married Violet Ehrich November 11, 1950 in Elmore, MN.

A WWII veteran of the Naval Air Force (Pacific Theater), Robert retired from Gunite after 38 years of employment.

Loving husband and a great dad, Robert was a lifetime resident of Rockford and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Violet Giardini; daughter, Lynne (William) Goodoff, and Gayle (William) Steltenpohl; grandchildren, Frank (Erica) Goodoff, Jennifer (Joseph) Glinz, Kristina (Jason) Lozano, and Katherine (Alex) Carlson; great granddaughter, Johanna Glinz and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Giardini; and sister, Florence Ebert.

Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28, at St Paul Lutheran Church, 600 N. Horsman Street, Rockford, with Rev. Frank Ciprys officiating. Visitation 10 a.m. to time of service, at the church. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran School, Rockford.
