Robert W Kardell

Robert W. “Bobby” Kardell, 61, of Rockford , passed away at his home on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Born on August 24, 1950, in Rockford, the son of Wallace and Mary (Zandonai) Kardell. A Rockford resident his whole life. Bobby graduated from Rockford East High School in 1968, where he was an accomplished swimmer, setting a number of records that stood for many years. He attended SIU Carbondale for a couple of years, prior to going into business with his father, owning and operating K&M Machining Specialties, in Loves Park. Bobby was a member of Forest Hills Country Club, and an avid golfer. He spent the last few years helping out at J.W. Marc’s Fusion Café. Left to share in his memory, his brother Gary (Mary) Kardell, 2 nieces Melissa and Emily, and brother-in-law, Jim Sola all of Rockford. He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Mary, and his sister Barbara Sola. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, from 6:30p.m.- 8:30 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL 61115.
