Robert L. Van Aken, 90, of Rockford passed away August 18, 2022. He served his country in the US Navy. He spent 71 years with the love of his life, Nan, and together they shared 5 children. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife; Nan Van Aken, children; Marcy (Mark) Jensen, Mace Van Aken, Diana (Kevin) Cross, and Christie Garas, grandchildren; Seth Jensen, Bradley Garas, Preston Van Aken, Brendan Glenn, Carmen Van Aken, and numerous great grandchildren and extended family members whom he loved dearly. Predeceased by his son; Robb Van Aken, and son in law Mark Jensen. A visitation will take place Saturday 9/3/22 at 1pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL. 61115 Funeral to follow at 2pm. Entombment will take place on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
