Roberta "Bobbie" Rae Modglin, 84, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Born December 9, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. Daughter of Robert and Ada (Titus) Hamilton. Along with her family, Roberta moved to Rockford area in her teens. Married Donald Modglin in 1952. Together they had two beautiful daughters Nancy (Rob) Fisker and Carol (Scott) Kinkade. Bobbie moved to Phoenix in 1978 after her divorce. Roberta met James Taylor in 1978 and together they spent many years together until his passing in 1995. Bobbie spent many years waitressing in Michigan and in Illinois and worked for 17 years at American Express until she retired in 1997. After retirement, Bobbie moved back to Illinois to be near her daughters. Bobbie found enjoyment in traveling, bowling on a league, playing bingo, spending time with family, journaling, gardening, lunch dates with her girlfriends and doing word searches. She enjoyed watching golf and the Green Bay Packers.
Survived by her daughter, Nancy Fisher of Waukaska, WI; grandchildren, Jesse (Michelle) Coulter of Springfield, MO, Jennifer (Armand DeLeeuw) Maddox, Billy Maddox, Nathan Kinkade, Anna Kinkade all of Rockford, IL; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Brendan, Jakob, Jenna, Hunter, Ayden, Asher, Silas, Bohan, Quill and Wyatt; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Helen Chirchirillo and Peggy Runkel; caretaker, Megan Vincent. Predeceased by her parents; partner, James Taylor; daughter, Carol Kinkade; son-in-law, Scott Kinkade; son-in-law, Rob Fisher; sister, Gayle Merrill.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 16 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Pastor Charles Waggoner is officiating the funeral service.
