Ronnie J. “Jamie” Thompson, 46, of Machesney Park, passed away suddenly, Saturday, October 19, 2019 from injuries due to a motorcycle accident. He was born May 16, 1973 in Rockford, the son of Ronnie L. and Deborah (Forsythe) Thompson. Ron worked at Kar Kraft Collision Repair. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, snowmobiles and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Ron was one of a kind, he had a big heart, he was always making people laugh, and was always there to help a friend in need. Most of all, he loved his family and friends.
Ron is loved and missed by his children, Nevaeh Thompson, Damon Timmerman, Dylan Thompson, and step-son, Devon Kane; mother, Deborah (Larry Hafferty) Thompson; sister and best friend, Danielle Thompson-Nelson; nephews, Gavin Nelson, Gianni Sorrentino; girlfriend, Rachel Jenkins, and mother of his daughter, Laquisha Wilburn-Thompson; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as too many great friends to list. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie L. Thompson.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Turning Point Church, 1625 Myott Ave, Rockford, IL 61103. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2019 at Turning Point Church. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
