Rose M. Swartout, 89, of Loves Park, Illinois passed away on June 3, 2021 surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 6, 1931 to Virgil and Ruby Stewart. At 19, Rose met the love of her life, Orlando Swartout and married May 5th of 1951 at the age of 20.
Rose is survived by her children, Lana (Mike) Hyland, Micky (the late Butch) Dalen, Rosemary Bagley, Orlando J. Swartout and Mark Swartout; 11 grandchildren and their spouses; 16 great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; son in law, Chris Leudtke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orlando Swartout; children, Penny Leudtke, Jerry Swartout, and Terry Swartout; parents Virgil and Ruby.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 9am until the time of Service at 10am at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and all the wonderful nurses who helped take care of Rose.
