Rosetta Jones, 89, of Arlington, TX a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away on November 16, 2024, but her memory will remain a beacon of hope and resilience. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on June 23, 1935, to Booker and Malinda Washington. She met and married Lawrence Jones. He preceded her in death. She previously attended Mt. Olive M.B, Church. Rosetta retired after many years of service at Warner Lambert Company. Rosetta was a remarkable matriarch and person, embodying unconditional love and limitless devotion, apparent in her nurturing of family and friends. Her charisma brightened any space. Thrift store shopping was a passion, regardless of location. Six years ago, Phillip moved her to Arlington, TX, bringing his mother closer to him and her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories and to carry on her legacy, son- Philip Jones of Arlington, TX who took care of her with a love beyond measure; grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally, Hailee Rose Jones of Arlington, TX, Whitney Ryan Jones of Ft Worth, TX, Amani Rashad Jones of Arlington, TX, Phillip Ramon Jones of Atlanta, GA and Alexis Ruth Jones of Rockford, IL, several great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers LC and Cornelius Washington, sister: Lula Mae Triplett, sisters-in-law, Betty and Berniece Washington.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115. Visitation 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
