

She was born August 28, 1922 as one of a set of triplets , in Drummond WI., daughter of Axel and Hilma (Johnson) Peterson. She married Robert “Bob” Lloyd Terry, and later married Raymond Kustush in October 2000.
Ruth had lived most of her adult life here in Rockford. Born of Swedish immigrants who settled in upper Wisconsin, she graduated from high school with honors and came to the Rockford area for employment opportunities as many did in the 1940’s. It was here she met her first husband, Bob Terry, and married soon after in South Dakota after Bob graduated from engineering college. Besides working with Illinois Bell, over the years Ruth enjoyed participating with bowling leagues, sewing projects, was a voracious reader, loved crossword puzzles and gardening hobbies as well as the company of close friends and in younger years she took frequent trips back home to Wisconsin. It wasn’t until later in life that she and Bob had their family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Ruth is survived by her children; Robert (Lynn, friend) Scott Terry, Melissa (Carl) Jean Ranta, Dana Louise (Mark,friend) Kruse, three grandchildren; Rob, Emily and Ryan, her husband Raymond E Kustush, several step-children and step-grandchildren, her eldest sister Martha Klopfleisch, triplet Rolland (Helen) and youngest sister Ruby (August) Witbracht, several nieces and nephews, and sister in law Ruby Nell.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years Robert “Bob” Lloyd Terry, her older siblings; Elizabeth (Lucius) Pease, Fred, Margaret (Loui ) Jones, Bertha (Tom) Cole, Adina (Lawrence) Gagner and triplet sibling Rudolph.
Memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park at a later date.
