

Ruth Darlene Yencsik, 89, of Rockford, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, July 31, 2016. Born April 22, 1927, in Ottumwa, IA. Daughter of Albin and Mary (Hanson) Allen. Married Andrew Yencsik on September 13, 1947 in Ottumwa, IA. He predeceased her on March 24, 2015. She had a bright personality and a heart of gold. Having been raised on a farm her love of gardening vegetables, fruit and flowers started early. In her younger years she worked as a waitress in her husband’s restaurants and retired from ComEd as a customer service representative.
She loved to sing and play her hymns on the piano and organ. Shopping and going out to eat were favorite pastimes. She loved her parrot Mikey. Member of Riverside Community Church.
Survivors include children, Connie (Terry) Evans, Steve Yencsik, Lorraine Yencsik; grandchildren, Tonya (Stephen) Bidwell, Mark Evans; great-grandchildren, Brock Bidwell, Brayden Bidwell, Bella Evans, Harper Evans; sister, Maureen Hampton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents and spouse.
