Salvatore Ocello

Salvatore Ocello, 93, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Wednesday afternoon, June 12, 2024 at OSF Saint Anthony Hospital. He was born June 6, 1931 in Burgio, Sicily, the son of Giuseppe and Maria (Feliciano) Ocello. Salvatore was raised in Sicily as one of eight children. He married Giuseppina Fiumarella on January 19, 1957. Salvatore brought his family to the United States in 1972. He was employed as a machinist at Rockford Products until retiring. Salvatore was a member of Saint Rita's Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Salvatore is loved and missed by his children, Joseph (Francesca) Ocello and Maria (Greg) Kostantacos; grandchildren, Elizabeth Grisanzio, Alessandria Grisanzio, Giuseppina Ocello, Peter Kostantacos, Salvatore Ocello and Michele Ocello; great-grandchildren, Eli Murphy and Giuseppe Ocello; brother, Franco (Carla) Ocello; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Giuseppina, sister Giuseppina Di Giovanna, brothers Gioacchino Ocello, Emilio Ocello, Angelo Ocello, Calogero Ocello and Vincenzo Ocello.
