Sharon L Denny

Sharon "Shari" L. Denny, 75, of Roscoe, Illinois passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 peacefully surrounded by her immediate family. Shari was born in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Lester and Alice (Papworth) Dittbenner. She married Glenn R. Denny in August 1978 in their home in Loves Park, Illinois. Employed as the lunch lady as Maple Elementary School until her recent illness. Shari loved crafts and sewing. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband, Glenn R. Denny; children, Jeffrey (Debbie) Denny, Gretchen Backunowicz, John Reynolds, Jessica (Matthew) Fleming; grandchildren, Bradley (Kim), Daniel (Megan), Ariel (Shawn), Jeremy, Zac (Shantal), Adoria, Jacob; numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; children, Bradley Denny, Joseph Reynolds; brother, Charles Dittbenner; and sisters, Donna Hartwig, Ruth McGraw, Carol Emmanuel. Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, May 26, 2023 in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, with a visitation from 5:00 PM until time of service. Private family inurnment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Cancer Society in Shari's name.
