Shelbie A Kessel

Shelbie A. Kessel, 65, of Machesney Park passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Born June 27, 1952 in Granite City, IL. Daughter of Arlie C. and Melba I. (Sharp) Anderson. United in marriage to Roger Kessel on September 27, 1986 in Concordia Lutheran Church in Loves Park. Shelbie found great enjoyment in taking Sunday drives, going out for dinners with Roger, anything flowers, collecting snow globes and in her younger days going bowling and golfing.

She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Roger; daughter, Gina Schmitz; step-daughter, Patrice Swafford; grandchildren, Skylar and Kenan Schmitz, Racheal and Stephanie Whittsit; sisters, Pamela Melton, Sharon Williams. Predeceased by her parents; siblings, Deloris Stogsdill, Arlie “Bub” Anderson, Doris O’Dell, Leslie Anderson, Barbara Jacobs. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to OSF Hospice for their loving care.
