Shirley Ann Smith, 67, of Machesney Park passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 surrounded by her family. Born February 6, 1943 the daughter of William and Myrtle (Siers) Starkey. She enjoyed selling Avon. Shirley married Virgil Smith November 15, 1993. He survives. Other survivors include her mother Myrtle Starkey her five sons: Girard Sosnowski Jr., Mark Sosnowski, Douglas (Kristi) Sosnowski, Brian Sosnowski and Scott (Jami) Brandt; fourteen grandchildren: Girard III, Dustin Sosnowski, Jacob and Crystal Sosnowski, Aaron, Elizabeth, Emily, Julie Anna, Joshua Sosnowski, Brian Jr., Kyle, Nichole Sosnowski, Taylor and Tanner Brandt and one great granddaughter Isabelle Sosnowski; brother William (Karen) Starkey, sister Nancy (Carl) Jewell, numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 pm Friday March 5, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road Machesney Park, IL 61115. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
