Stanley M. Spehar

Stanley was born on September 27, 1923 in Oregon, IL, the son of Anton and Anna Gacak Spehar. Stanley married Sylvia Moresi and she preceded him in death in November of 1971, he then married Violet Lundberg on February 10, 1973. Stanley was a member of Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford. Stanley worked for Pacemaker, Logli’s and Schnucks for over 50 years. Stanley and Violet loved to travel. Stanley was an Army Veteran of WWII.

Stanley is survived by his wife Violet; children Janis (Ron) Nemitz, Margaret (Dennis) Beard, Michael (Kim) Spehar, Barbara Roberts, David Bowers, Betty (David) Watson and Debi (Michael) Sutton; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister Mary Parady.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Daniel S. and John M., his first wife Sylvia, siblings Pauline Chriswell, Theresa Predovich and Johanna Myers.

The family would like to extend a “thank you” to Presence Cor Mariae Center for all their loving care that was given to Stanley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family or Presence Cor Mariae Center.

Funeral Mass to celebrate Stanley’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday February 1, 2014 at Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Church St. in Rockford with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Winnebago, IL. Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N.
