

Stella Claire Calacci, 89 of Rockford, was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Presence St. Anne Center. She was born May 4, 1925 in Western Springs, daughter of Jack and Doreen (Swallow) Jackson. She married William Calacci on March 17, 1951 in Rockford.
Stella graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a Physical Education degree. She taught P.E. at Lincoln from 1946 – 1954. Her loves were traveling the world, playing tennis, and bridge.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Bill; daughter, Pam (Dennis) Boyer; son, John Calacci; granddaughters, Marissa (Erik) Draney and Krista (Myles) Scott; sister-in-law, Nina Randall; many beloved nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents, brother and sister-in-laws.

Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, at First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 N. Mulford Road; Pastor Chuck Rife officiating. Visitation 10 a.m. to time of service at the church.
