Steven F. Clarke

Steven F. Clarke, age 72, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024. Steve was born in Rockford, Illinois on May 28, 1951 to Albert and Eudora Clarke. At the age of 19 Steve joined the United States Air Force, he served from 1970 until the time he was Honorably Discharged in 1974. On June 2nd, 1990 Steve married the love of his life, Geraldine Breit. Steve spent most of his working days as a machinist, ultimately retiring from MTE Hydraulics. In his free time Steve enjoyed playing the drums; he played in various bands. Cooking and Gardening were just a couple of Steve's hobbies that he loved to do. Steve was a handy man and no matter what the job may have required his solution always involved duct tape.

Steve is survived by his wife, Geraldine Clarke; children, Angela Clarke, Michael (Evie) Clarke, Renee (Bronson Boyette) Hoskins, Emily (Josh) Bell, and Brian Clarke; grandchildren, Tim, Cienna, Belle, Tristan, Jeffrey, Larissa, Brandon, Alexis, Damon, Johnathan, Sadies, Isabella, Xander, Tyler, and Adam; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Carol (the late Tom) Greer, Sandra (Bill) White, Susan (the late Jim) Strawbridge, Vickie (Ray) Gonzales, and Ricky (Jody) Clarke; several nieces and nephews; brother in law, Pete Breit; sister in law, Judy Porter. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Clarke; great grandson, Elijah Hooker; parents, Albert and Eudora Clarke; siblings, Barb Marek and Robin Clarke; niece, Candi; brother in law, Denny Breit.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 9am until the time of service at 10am at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine road, Machesney Park, IL 61115). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
