Steven F. Clauson

Steven F. Clauson, age 75, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025. He was born May 31, 1949 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Folke O. and Dorothea (Rockwell) Clauson. Steve graduated from high school and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. He was employed as a computer programmer at Sundstrand for several years and as an IT Manager at Chemical Processing until retirement. Steve was an avid coin collector. He loved his dog, Brody. Steve was determined to win any kind of sweepstakes, especially Publisher's Clearing House, (it never happened.) He was a fighter and fought as hard as he could for as long as he could.

Steven is loved and missed by his children; Jaime (Donahue) Franklin and Kimberly Jimenez; grandchildren, Alan (Stacy) Franklin, Jessica Fagerstrom, Haylee Fagerstrom, Matia Jimenez and Ariel Jimenez; great-grandchildren; Harmony Franklin and August Franklin; sister, Jeanine (Dave) Morales; niece, Michelle Whitmore; and mother of his children, Mary Jo Buckle. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Angel Jimenez and loving companion, Cyndi McCarren

A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Cremation rites to follow.
