Steven E. Hogan

Steven E. “Steve” Hogan, 66, of Rockford, IL, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, October 27, 2021. He was born September 15, 1955 in Chicago, IL, the son of Eugene and Mary (Nelson) Hogan. Steve was a proud member of the Rockford Alano Club. He was a mechanic at One Stop Auto in Rockford. Steve loved tinkering around with his 1968 Chevy Chevelle and going camping. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and his family.

Steve is survived by his sons, Neal (Carrie) Hogan and Nick (Michelle) Hogan; grandchildren, Dylan Hogan, Derek Hogan, Jacqui Zimmerman and Dannyy McCaslin; one great-granddaughter on the way; sister, Barbara Carter; nephew, Brad (Amanda) Pittman; nieces, Brynn Trentham and Missy Hogan; great-niece and great-nephews, Shelby Pittman, Tate, Kennedy, Ty and Talon Trentham; brother by choice, Noah (Yvette) Sanders. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, William Hogan.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Cremation rites to follow. A celebration of life will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the Rockford Alano Club, 1210 11th Street, Rockford, IL 61104. Memorials may be made to the family.
