Susan L. Shafranski

Susan L. (Harvey) Shafranski, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away into God’s eternal care on March 17, 2016. She was born on September 5, 1955 in Rockford, IL. Daughter of Otis and Pearl Harvey. She was predeceased by her parents and her three sisters Diana McAnally, Margo Hada and Jill McNaughton.

Left to cherish her memories is Jerry her loving husband. It was love at first sight when they met and this love for each other was forever present in their 15 years of marriage. Sue has left many cherished moments for her in-laws Bob McNaughton, Ann Marie and Mike Fischbach, John and Vickie Shafranski, Therese Shafranski and Tim Ryder, Christine and John Weis, Stephanie and late Harvey Sterr and Joyce and Joe Schwingel; her aunt Marcia Woodman; along with a host of numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Sue will be greatly missed!

Sue was a 1973 graduate of Harlem High School in Machesney Park, IL. She later went on to earn an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology in 2007 from Tidewater Community College of Virginia Beach. Sue was employed at Sentara Leigh Breast Center as a mammography technologist in Norfolk, VA and as a radiologic technologist at Patient First in Virginia Beach, VA. Sue was a very outgoing and social person who touched many lives. Sue always demonstrated a genuine respect for the individual regardless of their title or position. If she touched your life, you became a friend. Sue was a very loving and caring person.

Jerry and the family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all friends and relatives that so freely extended their love and support.

Memorial service at 10 a.m. on Friday April, 1 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL. Visitation at 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
