

Thomas Floyd Jones, 75, of Roscoe, Il passed peacefully Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Born November 3, 1940 in Beloit, WI. to Harold and Ruth Jones. Tom retired as a masters sergeant of the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a lifetime member of the VFW. Tom made a career of the military, traveling the world and proudly serving his country. He was an author, poet, avid reader and wealth of wisdom. Always thirsty for news facts, cultural trends, political findings or human interest stories. A rebel and jokester, he loved to laugh. He was courageous, committed, and opinionated. Tom had an incredibly generous heart. He was an advocate for American Indians, contributing to as many of their causes as possible. And was more than willing to help those in need in any way he could. You always knew when Tom was in the room. He was a firey, adventurous spirit, and he will be missed.
Survivors: daughter, Tracy Jones; sisters, Pat Sander, Barbara (Ted) Green and Donna Hayes. Predeceased by parents.
