Timothy “Tim” A. Ryan, 64, of Rockford, passed away peacefully in the evening on Friday, March 15, 2024. Tim was born here in Rockford to Robert and Ann (Roach) Ryan on March 14, 1960. He graduated from Harlem High School, and shortly after began his tremendous educational journey. Tim began with a Bachelor of Music at Trinity College before going on to receive his Master of Business Administration at Roosevelt University of Chicago, and Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University of Florida. Along the way, Tim also pursued his Certified Public Accounting credential.
He was very passionate about learning and putting this knowledge into practice. He was well versed in several aspects of the legal profession, from working with politicians to the National Association of Realtors. Locally, he was proud to work with the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. Tim was also a member of numerous professional organizations.
Naturally, with his line of work, this led to his love of traveling domestically and internationally. He performed in the University of Maryland Orchestra as a trombonist, as his love for music carried through his entire life.
He is survived by his siblings, Deborah Castronovo, Peggy (Bill) Freeman, James (Sarah) Ryan, and Benjamin (Lorrie) Ryan; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; especially close great-niece, Karina Yahya; aunt, Edith Maden.
His parents, Robert and Ann Ryan, preceded him in death.
A visitation for Tim will be held Monday, March 18, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to donate to Phantom Regiment or Remedies Renewing Lives in Tim’s honor.
