Vera Ilene Thompson, 76, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away Wednesday January 4, 2012; born July 20, 1935 in Hanover, Illinois to Eugene & Opal(Davis) Murphy; Vera Loved her husband Paul & children, enjoying the get-togethers with the grandchildren whenever possible. Travel to Hawaii with Paul & regular trips to Las Vegas with her sisters were treasured. Completing cross-word puzzles and reading Steven King books were always a part of Vera's free time; Survived by husband Paul;sons Paul(Ada) Thompson of Rockford, Illinois, and Donald Thompson of Florida;daughters Pattie(William) Reuber of Roscoe, Illinois, and Susan(Jim) Foss of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; and many sisters & brothers, grandchildren, and great grand-children; Visitation Monday January 9, 2012, 9am to 10 am with funeral service & interment to follow; directed by Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 N.
