

Vernon L. Dailing, 89, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2019. He was born June 23, 1929 in Moline, IL. Son of Paul and Alma (Flodeen) Dailing. Graduated from Moline High School. Veteran of the United States Army. United in marriage to Patricia A. Follett on June 4, 1950 in South Park Presbyterian Church in Rock Island. Vernon had a career in Mechanical Diagnostics and Sales with various companies throughout the years including Dailco Sales, Edward Filkins, Matt Bros and Nelson Piping. Member of First Free Rockford Church. Vernon had a passion for Jesus Christ, Photography, his lifesaver ministry and mostly the love he had for his family.
Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patricia; children, Douglas of Rockford, David (Linda) of Sierra Vista, AZ, Deborah (Randy) Flock of Roscoe, Donavon (Darlene) of Rockford, Deanne (Jim) Spataro of Davis; grandchildren, Andy (Michelle), Kristina (Steve), Katie (Dustin), Tim, Britney (Andy), Whitney, Jason, Stephen, Kimberly, Hope, Jacob, Christopher (Mary), Sarah (Brian), Erin; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Alice) of Rock Island, Wayne (Lee) of San Marcus, CA; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 5 at First Free Rockford Church, 2223 N. Mulford Rd, Rockford. Visitation at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday April 4 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Visitation at 9 a.m. until time of service as well at First Free Rockford Church. Burial to take place Monday, April 8 at 11 a.m. in Rock Island National Cemetery. Fellowship luncheon is to follow burial in Rock Island, IL at First Prespertian Church, 801 16th Street Moline, IL.
