Victor R. Serri, 93, of Rockford, IL, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1928 in Olgesby, IL, the son of Attiluis and Sylvia (Sandrolini) Serri. Victor graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School in 1946. He went on to serve in the United States Army in January of 1951. He was wounded in action on June 27, 1951 and was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. Victor married the love of his life, Lorraine Cassidy on June 12, 1954. He attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Science in 1956 and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Science from Bradley University in 1961. Victor was a Faculty M.ember, Lead Instructor and Workshop Presenter for Rock Valley College from 1968-1989. He was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Victor was the patriarch of our family and will truly be missed.
Victor is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lorraine; loving daughter, Lorrie (Joseph) Pierce; and grandchildren, Jessica (Rick) Lighthall and Andrew (Melissa) Serri. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private funeral service will be held. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
