Violet I Giardini

Violet Irene Giardini, 98, of Rockford IL, went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2022. She was born on December 20, 1923 in Blue Earth MN to Meta and Robert Ehrich. She was a deeply devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Robert Giardini on November 11, 1950 and together they shared two children. She served the Rockford community for many years working for Rockford public schools as a secretary. Violet was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a woman of strong faith. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children; Lynne (William) Goodoff, and Gayle (William) Steltenpohl, grandchildren; Frank (Erica) Goodoff, Jennifer (Joseph) Glinz, Kristina (Jason) Lazano, Katherine (Alex) Carlson, great grandchildren, Johanna and Corinne Glinz, Job and Violet Lazano, Anthony Goodoff and Roberta and Theodore Carlson, nephews; Tim (Laura) Sweet, and Brian (Laura) Sweet.

She is welcomed into heaven by her husband Robert Giardini, her parents; Meta and Robert Ehrich, as well as her sister and brother-in-law Delores and Robert Sweet.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.

A memorial service for Violet will take place Saturday, 9/24/2022 at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL 61115. A visitation will be at 1pm until the time of service.
