

Virginia G. Williams, 71, of Rockford, passed away after a long brave battle with lung cancer on July 28, 2011 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born May 10, 1940 in Sage, AR, the daughter of Clyde and Mellie (Moser) Shaver. Worked at National Lock for 23 years. She had a big heart, warm smile, great sense of humor and always thought of others. Virginia was a fan of the Chicago Bulls/Michael Jordan in their hayday and Bill Clinton. She enjoyed making and collecting dolls, sewing, crocheting, quilting and making crafts. She also loved the holidays and cooking big family meals and also going to Fiesta Cancun to eat her chimichanga and seeing her favorite waiters. Virginia was the best mom, sister and friend. Survived by her children, Dannie Eary, Randy Eary, both of Omaha, NE and Jackie Henderson of Rockford; sisters, Vera Vickery, Clyda Brooks, Elizabeth Ann Johnson and Betty Cook all of AR; brother, Leroy (Mary) Shaver of Kansas City; many nieces, nephews and friends; beloved cats, Nemo, Dasher, Shaggy and Angel. Predeceased by her parents and daughter, Joy Byes. Special thanks to Dr. Khan for his compassion and support. Funeral services at 3 pm on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N.
