Wanda Johnson, age 61, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. She was born January 8, 1965 to Jimmie and Lillie Mae (Ward) Robinson in Chicago, Illinois. Wanda graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School. She married the love of her life, Tony Johnson, on February 9, 1994 having met him at a factory job. She went on to the nursing field, working at OSF St. Anthony.
She enjoyed playing with her dogs, going on walks and to the dog park. She liked working out and swimming. Wanda loved to watch TV with her sister. She enjoyed listening to music, especially oldies and Post Malone. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 32 years, Tony Johnson; daughter, Yvonne Johnson; twin sister, Wendy Robinson; nieces and nephews, Edward, Shirley, Sharonda, Shaqura, Markita, Shakita, Floyd, Evita, Roosevelt, and Shabar; along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Lillie Mae Robinson; siblings, Edward, Shirley, Jane, and David; and nieces, Anita and Yolanda.
Visitation for Wanda will be held Thursday, September 24 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
