Wanda J. Raxter, 59 of Roscoe, went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2021. She was born on December 23, of 1961 to Lenis and James Raxter in Rockford. Wanda was deeply devoted in her faith and she led by example. She was a member of Concordia Church for some time, and singing hymns, especially “This little light of mine” brought her great joy. Compassion and generosity came naturally to Wanda. She was known to give the most thoughtful gifts to those she loved. She was known as the favorite, sister, aunt, cousin, you name it, Wanda was the favorite. She was as deeply devoted to her family as she was to her faith. She was a dedicated and attentive mother and grandmother. Her time telling stories, singing, and caring for the children in her life will not be forgotten. She loved horses, and animals, and often had pets in her home. Wanda will be remembered for her quick wit, her love for others, and her unfailing faith.
She is survived by her children; Stephanie (Jeff) Brown, and Sasha Stenger, her grandchildren; Brenden Tate, and Hendric Stenger, siblings; Kathryn Wysong, Debra Drew, James (Cheryl) Raxter Jr., Jean (Dana) Raxter, and Jeffrey Raxter, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and close loved ones.
She is predeceased by her parents; Lenis and James, sister; Joyce Coad, and granddaughter; Scarlette Tate.
Funeral services for Wanda are scheduled for, Saturday March 20, at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL.
