William H. Marshall Jr.

William was born on January 29, 1932 in Sterling, IL, son of William H. and Lucille Ellen (Buell) Marshall. William married Margaret E. Leach on September 30, 1956 and she preceded William in death on July 3, 2001. William was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Sundstrand after 36 years as a technical illustrator. William was a member of East View Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church. William volunteered for Hospice Organization in Arkansas and the Alzheimer’s Support Group. He loved art work and loved painting.

William is survived by his sons: Alan (Dawn) Marshall, Tim (Lori Morgan) Marshall and Jay (Cindy) Marshall; six grandchildren: Christopher Marshall, Shyanne Marshall-Nesbit, Patric Marshall, Tyler Marshall, Lynzi Mummert and Kyli Marshall; two step-grandchildren: Andrew and Alec (Morgan) Frits and two great-grandchildren: Mackenzie and MacKayla Mummert; brother John Marshall, a godfather to Sheila Swanson; special friend Imogene Vogelgesang

William was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, son Kurt D. Marshall and two brothers George and Daniel Marshall.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorials to National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or Alzheimer’s Foundation.

A service to celebrate William’s life will be 10:00 am Saturday January 9, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park. Visitation for William will be Friday January 8, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens after the services.
