

He was born on June 9, 1960, to John and Patricia (Driver) Walker in Daytona Beach, FL.
Bill attended Florida State University, studying meteorology, then going on to join the Army in August of 1986. He trained at Ft Jackson, SC and then went on to be stationed at Ft Carson, CO as the supply clerk for the USA MEDDAC hospital unit, where he met his wife, Jennifer. He then was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii with the 25th Infantry Division until his discharge in December 1990 as a corporal.
He married Jennifer Hopp on August 20, 1988 and they had three children, Patricia (Walker) Ragsdale, Zoe Walker and John Walker.
After serving in the Army for 4 years, he relocated with his family to North Carolina to be close to his parents, and started working at a local window manufacturer, starting out as a shipping clerk and moving up to shipping supervisor. He took a job in Winnebago, IL at another window manufacturer, moving north in 1997. He worked at Mikron until he was headhunted to be a technical sales manager, then a Midwest Regional Sales Manager with Deceuninck NA, in Ohio, retiring in 2024 after 17 years due to his illness. Bill became interested in the AKC dog sport of Fastcat around 2019, learning to be a lure operator and then starting Lure Dude/Tally Ho Events, holding many events in the Midwest as the lure operator for clubs and earning the reputation for being very detail oriented and safety conscious. He ran the lure for thousands of dogs before it became too difficult for him to be at events, passing the button to his son, John.
He loved college football, being a huge fan of the Florida State Seminoles, as well as going on fishing trips with his brothers. He and his wife also enjoyed camping in their RV, with one of their favorite places to visit being Door County, WI.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jennifer, children Patricia Ragsdale (Brad), Zoe Walker and John Walker, granddaughter Paisley, brothers Barry Walker (Kathy), Steve Walker (Meg), Kathy Willis (Lyle), Sean Walker (Michelle), and step-brother Chris Hurst. Granddaughter #2 is expected in October.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Walker and Patty Walker Hurst, stepfather Neil Hurst, and stepbrother Beau Hurst.
A celebration of life gathering for Bill will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 with military honors beginning at 2:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life gathering until 5:00 PM.
