Wilma I. Gray, 89, of Rockford, IL, went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 6, 2021. She was born January 18, 1932 in Datto, AR, the daughter of Thomas and Nellie (Glascow) Dunn. She was married Aaron Jackson Gray on September 26, 1947. Wilma worked as an assembler at Atwood Industries for 32 years. She was a faithful member of Riverside Assembly of God for many years. Wilma was a hardworking woman who enjoyed finding bargains at garage sales and thrift stores.
Wilma is survived by her children, Thomas Gray, Jackie Gray, James Gray and Fonda Hartung; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Johnson and Linda Kay Hightower; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Aaron, daughter Donna Gray, and grandsons Tommy Vernon and Billy Gray.
A visitation for Wilma will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Wilma will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115.
