It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zdzisław Trzaska, our beloved father, grandfather, coworker, and friend, who passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at the age of 80, after a long and courageous six-year battle with cancer.
Zdzisław was born on January 1, 1946, in Jedwabne and raised in Łomża, Poland. In his early years, he proudly served in the Navy for two years, reflecting his discipline, strength, and sense of duty. In the 1980s, he courageously began a new chapter of his life by immigrating first to Austria and later to the United States, where he built a life through determination, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to hard work in order to provide a better life for his family.
He was a devoted, selfless and hardworking man, known for his strong work ethic and deep sense of responsibility. Zdzisław worked as a lathe machine operator with Advanced Machine and Service Machine, where he was respected for his skill on CNC and lathe machinery, his dedication, persistence, and reliability. He took great pride in his work and in building a life with his own hands, always striving to create stability and opportunity for his family.
Outside of work, Zdzisław found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits—fixing things, fishing, boating, landscaping, and working on projects around the home. He appreciated life’s quiet moments, lived with humility, and took pride in his family.
Above all, Zdzisław was a devoted family man. He carried a quiet strength, deep love, and steady presence that grounded those around him. His dedication to his family was constant and unwavering. Even through life’s greatest hardships, including the heartbreaking loss of his beloved wife, Barbara, who passed at the age of 47, and his son, David, who passed at the young age of 9, he remained strong, resilient, and deeply committed to providing for those he loved.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, Brygida Trzaska and Kinga Trzaska, and his cherished grandchildren, Christian, Evan, Jaime, and Leia, who will carry forward his memory and legacy and whom he loved deeply.
Zdzisław will be remembered for his strength, selflessness, perseverance, and unwavering dedication to his family and his work. His life, lived across countries and generations, is a testament to hard work, sacrifice, and enduring love.
Though he is no longer with us, his presence and the values he instilled will remain in our hearts forever.
Funeral services, viewing, and burial will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 8800 N Alpine Rd Machesney Park, IL 61115. Visitation from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with graveside service at 3:00 pm.
