

MACON - Alice Sutherland Sheridan, 89, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011. -A Rosary will be said at 6P.M., Monday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11A.M., Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with private burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Allan McDonald will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Family Advancement Ministry or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 830 Poplar Street, Macon 31201.
Mrs. Sheridan was born in Tooele, Utah the daughter of the late Charles Francis and Katherine Sheehan Sutherland. She grew up in LaGrange and in 1951 was married to the late Phil J. Sheridan. Mrs. Sheridan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jackson Springs Garden Club and The United Way's Alexis DeTocqueville Society. She served on the Board of Macon Outreach and was a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include her daughter, Alice Sheridan Smith of Macon; her son, Philip J. Sheridan, Jr. of Sautee, GA; four grandchildren, Alicia Kelly, Randy Kelly, Katherine Sheridan and Philip J. (Trey) Sheridan, III.
