ALLAN RUDOLPH BROWN MACON – Allan Rudolph Brown, 84, passed away on Wednesday at Georgia War Veterans Medical Center, Milledgeville. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Forest Hills United Methodist Church with Dr. Frank Harris and the Rev. Jimmy Towson officiating. Members of the Chapman Sunday School Class and members of the Men’s Chorus are asked to sit as a group during the service. The family will meet friends in the Fellowship Hall of the church from 2 p.m. to service time on Saturday. They ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the New Organ Fund of Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon 31210 or to United Hospice, P. O. Box 6060 Lake Commons Drive, Macon 31210. Mr. Brown, son of the late James Reginald and Iva Wheeler Brown, was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC where he was a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School. He was also a graduate of North Carolina State University and served with the U. S. Army during World War II. Living in Macon since 1965, Mr. Brown was an Industrial Engineer retired from Armstrong World Industries after thirty-four years. He was a member of Macon Downtown Lions Club, the Salvation Army Board, and was named Volunteer of the Year by Meals on Wheels. Mr. Brown was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church where he was very active in the life of his church. He was an avid tennis player. Survivors include his wife, Betty D. Brown of Macon; his daughter, Devereaux Brown of Atlanta; four nieces, Betty Tyler Barnes, June Page Davis of Richmond, VA, Anne Brown Lemere of Greensboro and Nancy Maloch of Houston, TX; his nephew, James Brown Greensboro; sister-in-law, Christine Rogers Brown of Roanoke Rapids, NC.
