

MACON – Burke “Beau” Lowe Slocumb, IV, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday at Northway Church. Rev. Kevin Mills, Jack Gregory, and Steve Patton will officiate. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held from 3 until 5 PM Sunday at Northway Church. Beau was born in Macon and was a fabricator/race car driver for Turner Motorsports. He attended First Presbyterian Day School and Mary Persons and was a member of Northway Church. Beau was 2004 National Champion of Legends Racing and had 131 feature wins in his career. He raced for Gresham Motorsports, Zaxby’s Racing, Win-Tron Racing and Turner Motorsports.
Beau is survived by his wife, Jessica Pitts Slocumb of Statesville, NC; parents, Burke “Buster” and Jeanne Slocumb of Bolingbroke; siblings, Seth, Daniel and Maggie Slocumb of Bolingbroke; paternal grandmother, Margaret Slocumb; maternal grandmother, Maria Morton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry & Mona Pitts; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
