Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Harrison III, age 90, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Mr. Harrison was born in Macon, Georgia the son of the late Mary Elizabeth Derry Harrison and Benjamin Franklin Harrison, Jr. He was graduated from Lanier High School in 1949, attended the University of the South (Sewanee) and was graduated from Mercer University in 1954. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base after 33 years where he had served as Contracts Committee Chairman. Mr. Harrison was a United States Army veteran and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and at the time of his death was the oldest surviving, original member of the Marion Road Gun Club.
Mr. Harrison is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie M. Harrison; children, Susan Lynn Harrison Smoak (Terry) and Benjamin "Ben" F. Harrison, IV (Melissa); grandchildren, Kathryn Palombo (Frank) and Laura Smoak; brother, Henry D. Harrison (Betty); nephew, Derry Harrison (Diana).
