Bernard "Bernie" Acklin Kilgore

A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 12, 2026, at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Ken Horton will officiate. Burial will be private at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Monticello, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seekers Sunday School Class, Forest Hills Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Vivian Kilgore, his sister, Jean Kilgore and his wife of 65 years, LaRee Tuggle Kilgore.

Bernie served his country in the United States Air Force and earned his engineering degree from Georgia Tech and then earned his MBA from Georgia College. He retired from Georgia Kaolin Company as an engineer. Bernie was a member of Forest Hills Church and the Seekers Sunday School class. He enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach and Georgia Tech football.

He is survived by his children, Julie (Mark) Willis of Macon and John Kilgore of Monticello, his 3 grandchildren whom he adored, Kate Willis (Grant Meuers) of CA, Luke Willis (Melissa Bierschenk) of VA, and Madelyn Kilgore of Monticello and sister-in-law, LaRue Tuggle Camp of Monticello.

Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, has charge of arrangements.
