Calvin E. McDaniel

Capt. Calvin Eric McDaniel, 88, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating. The family will meet friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., on Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue and may be contacted at the residence. They suggest that those who wish may make memorial contributions to Bradley Baptist Church, Highway Eleven, Gray, GA 31032.

Mr. McDaniel was the son of Lonnie McDaniel and Lillian Gladys Johnson McDaniel. He was born in Macon and was a graduate of old Lanier High School. He was a World War II Veteran having entered Naval Service in 1942 and serving in the Pacific. He retired from the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department after thirty years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of Bradley Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Betty Cannon McDaniel, his daughter Susan McDaniel Bell, his sister Vivian McDaniel Monroe, children David (Elizabeth) Riley and Sharon Vacula, a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
