Clara Dukes Douglas, 98, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens with Rev Donald L. Douglas. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 19, at 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street.
Clara was born in Jesup, Georgia to the late Lucius and Mary Ivey Dukes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Douglas; sisters, Bue Dow, Ida Mae Smith, Lucille Taylor; and great-grandson, Eric Hawkins. Clara was a member of the Church of God.
Those left to cherish Clara’s memory are her son, Donald L. Douglas, Sr. of Macon; grandchildren, Jimmy Hawkins (Michelle) of Barnesville, Tina McMurray of Forsyth and Lester Douglas of Bremen; four great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren; sister, Perrilee Gummish of Savannah.
