Clara Wimberly Lockard, 95, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens on Joycliff Road, Jones County. Rev. Sam Scarbrough will officiate. The family will greet friends following the graveside. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to United Hospice, 6060 Lake Commons Road, Macon 31210.
Mrs. Lockard was born in Twiggs County and had lived in Middle Georgia for most of her life. She was the widow of M. L. “Hoppy” Lockard and the daughter of the late Jennie Wimberly. Mrs. Lockard was a homemaker, worked at the Naval Ordnance Plant and was a member of Cross Keys Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lockard is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Paul Simpson of Macon; granddaughter, Gina (Jeff) S. Jernigan of Buford, GA; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Keaton and Ansley Grace Jernigan.
